Activity Goal
The goal of this CME/CE activity is to review the major chemotherapeutic regimens used to treat chronic myeloid leukemia and acute myeloid leukemia and provide rationales for the treatment regimens used for particular patient types and disease phases.

Target Audience
This activity is designed for hematologists, oncologists, radiation oncologists, family practice/primary care physicians, and other clinicians involved in the management, treatment, and care of patients with leukemia.

Evaluate the genetic abnormalities associated with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). |

Assess treatment agents that specifically target the BCR-ABL protein that characterizes CML. |

Distinguish among the factors that influence prognosis in different types of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). |

Evaluate treatment options for attaining and maintaining remission of AML. |
